War veterans deserve our gratitude
How do you thank someone for putting his or her life on the line to protect our freedoms?
How can we show those who serve in America’s military that we understand and appreciate their sacrifices, bravery and dedication to duty?
Words seem inadequate, but we can begin with a simple “thank you.”
Among the thousands of Mississippians who have been called to active duty since 9/11 are employees of electric power associations. Their daily duties may include reading meters, building power lines, maintaining motor vehicles or operating heavy equipment. Regardless of their job title, they are conscientous, skilled and dedicated to delivering top-notch service to the members of their respective electric power associations.
They—and all Mississippians who have been deployed—are serving our country honorably and they deserve our gratitude.
These electric power association employees are:
• Coast EPA: Barry Morreale;
• East Mississippi EPA: Mario Brown, William Paul Smith and Charles Westerfield;
• Monroe County EPA: Boyd Duncan;
• Natchez Trace EPA: Ricky R. Browning;
• Pearl River Valley EPA: Donald Martin and Mike Hall;
• Singing River EPA: Phillip Mosley and Randall Coleman;
• Southern Pine EPA: Kenneth Daughdrill, Clyde Gardner Jr., Kenneth Graham and Lanny Holder;
• Tallahatchie Valley EPA: Ronald Rainey;
• Tishomingo EPA: Jerry D. Gray;
• Tombigbee EPA: Maurice Miller and Wesley Shumpert.
The nation honors all veterans each year on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. We at Electric Power Associations of Mississippi extend deep gratitude to veterans of all conflicts on this special day of observance—and every other day of the year. We realize our nation is stronger for their service.
